Proud 700 meters of altitude await you on the second stage - and yet this stage is one of the easiest on the Stubai High Trail. The view from the Basslerjoch to the Stubai main ridge will definitely sweeten your strenuous ascent. You start on flat terrain out of the valley into the Kuhgschwetz. From now on it's always uphill. Via the Schrimmennieder you get to the Platzenturm and the upper Platzengrube. Numerous serpentines allow you to gain altitude quickly and enjoy the mountains with the best views. If you are lucky, you will spot an Alpine ptarmigan, a living relic from the last ice age. It once immigrated from the Arctic and is now native to the Alps. You now follow many hairpin bends down to the Neue Regensburger Hütte. As soon as the path becomes flatter, you can see the beautiful hut and your destination today in the distance.
