On the first stage you hike from the Kreuzjochbahn mountain station above Neustift to the Franz-Senn-Hütte. You can expect almost 1,000 meters of ascent, but also breathtaking views of rugged granite mountains along the Stubai main ridge. It starts at the Starkenburger Hütte above Neustift in the Stubai Valley. After you slowly floated up on the mountain railway, you set foot on the rocky mountain landscape yourself. From the Kalkkögel, the so-called Dolomites of the Stubais, you follow a promising ridge path. It goes up to the summits of the Gamskogel and Steinkogel, where rocks and rubble alternate with green alpine pastures. It is worthwhile to stop at the Seducker Hochalm. Fresh milk and delicious, home-made cakes are a welcome refreshment with the most wonderful view of the surrounding peaks. From there it continues over the Oberissalm to the Franz-Senn-Hütte, your stage destination at 2,147 meters.
