Etappe 5: Vom Furtschaglshaus zur Berliner Hütte – Berliner Höhenweg
Mountaineering Highlight (Segment)
Tirol planned a mountaineering Tour.
December 28, 2019
From the fifth stage, the Berliner Höhenweg now has a distinctive high mountain character. From the barren meadows around the Furtschaglhaus, the hiking trail takes you steeply uphill to the Schönbichler Horn, the highest point of the entire hike. The landscape is becoming increasingly barren and at the summit you stand in a breathtaking rocky landscape. All around you, the magnificent peaks of the Zillertal Alps and the Tux Alps rise into the sky.Treat yourself to a breather at the summit, because the long descent has it all. The descent route on the east ridge of the Schönbichler Horn winds down and is partially secured with ropes. You can see the Berliner Hütte in the valley deep below. And hut is definitely the wrong name here: The venerable Berlin hut is the oldest mountain hut in the Zillertal Alps and proudly bears the nickname "Alpenpalast" to a grand hotel of yesteryear, but don't worry, hikers and mountaineers are warmly welcomed here. You can find all information about the Berliner Hütte at berlinerhütte.at.Hut telephone: +43 (676) 7051473
