When I walked the Westweg with my youngest a few years ago, I was amazed by the long path passage from the Kreuzweg to the Blauen.
That's why I decided to use the little winter return today to walk this piece in the snow. 6km practically pure path, can only be recommended!

Great tour on great paths, as always well described!
I've also been surprised that little is read or heard about the Köhlgarten, even though it's really nice there. Is just a bit inconspicuous between Belchen and Hochblauen.
I also find the Weiherkopf directly at the Kreuzweg interesting…

yes, that's probably definitely wanted, so that the capercaillie has its peace...
The eastern summit is still nicely equipped with a cross and summit book (komoot.de/tour/323677341?ref=aso), but nothing is signposted there either.
