komoot planned a hike.
November 22, 2019
The final stage takes you to the highest point on Anglesey, giving you a chance to gaze over all that you have hiked.
From Rhoscolyn Beach, the trail winds around the coastline and you can observe some impressive natural rock arches.
You soon arrive at the golden sands of Trearddur Bay and continue along a particularly stunning stretch of coastline.
The trail passes close to Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles and climbs to give you a fantastic view of South Stack Lighthouse, which was built in 1809.
You continue the ascent until you reach the summit of Holyhead Mountain. At 722 feet (220 meters) above sea level, Holyhead Mountain is the highest summit on Anglesey and affords spellbinding views which stretch as far as Ireland on a clear day.
The trail descends to Holyhead to finish outside the 13th-century St Cybi’s Church, where it started.
Holyhead has a good range of accommodation, places to eat and drink, as well as shops and other attractions.
