Almost silently and in their own rhythm, the "oil drippers" pump the "black gold" from the depths. On this tour through the Moor International Nature Park you will experience the Emsland as the largest oil production area in Germany. In Twist, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Museum informs you about the origins of the coveted raw materials and also makes historical and modern materials handling technology comprehensible. The "Moor Energy Adventure Path" starts at its exit and informs you about the region's special features at interactive information stations: about oil production, moorland, peat and the renaturation of natural landscapes, flora and fauna and sustainable development Energy production, because even modern windmills shape in parts the landscape. The path leads directly to the Emsland Moormuseum with the largest deep plow in the world and other exciting exhibits in two halls. The history of the moor is made clear: from the first settlement over the industrial peat use to today's protection and the renaturation of the unique habitat. You will get to know it better on the way through the Moor Nature Park. Highlights of the path are also the "Blue Lagoon" bathing lake and - back in Twist - the Nazareth church with its lovingly designed Bible and farm garden and the "path to happiness".
