komoot planned a bike ride.
October 21, 2019
You follow the Aa from Bocholt and cycle behind the gates of the city on the natural Aa bike path right on the banks of the river. After about ten kilometers you leave the Aa cycle path and drive through the Schüttensteiner forest to Isselburg. At the Biotopwildpark Anholter Switzerland you will reach the moated castle Anholt. After you have extensively admired the castle, you cycle north and then turn into the forest Schievekamp. On shady paths you roll to the Krummer Bach. This forms the border with the Netherlands. You follow the border to Suderwick. The town is directly adjacent to the Dutch Dinxperlo. At first glance, you may not even realize that these are two places and certainly not that they are in two different countries. The state border runs on the curb of a road that leads across the towns. A break here is definitely worth it!With new impressions you then cycle on the German side. The route takes you through the beautiful nature of the Münsterland park landscape. You will pass Haus Bülling and finally reach the Rheder Schloss in Rhede.Through a beautiful avenue in the Prinzenwald, past fields, hedges and meadows you will reach the Aa again. On the Aa-Radweg you pass the Pröbstingsee and get comfortably to the stage destination Borken.
