The watch tower above the town of Nierstein, located north in the Rote Hang, is the highest vantage point in the vineyards with an excellent panoramic view over Nierstein to Donnersberg, to the Hessian Bergstrasse, into the Taunus, to Wiesbaden, Mainz and the Rhine-Main area . rheinhessen.de/a-wartturm-von-nierstein

Unfortunately, the tower has never been open to the public in recent months. In this respect, the views in the area of the tower are no better than directly on the Rheinterrassenweg above Nierstein and the surrounding area. Nevertheless a nice picnic area with benches.
It is much more interesting to continue along the path to Schwabsburg. This tower is open during the day and from the top you have an interesting 360 degree view of the area.
