Double row and 3 km long avenue of linden trees near Ladendorf. With lots of benches for a short rest along the whole route.
There are only a few descriptions of the history of this avenue of lime trees. Originally there were over 1,000 trees. The oldest are 400 years old. Meanwhile, trees such as chestnuts, oaks and others mix among them. Unfortunately, replanting of linden trees was not very successful, since the old trees with their spreading crowns did not let the young trees any light and therefore could not grow.

The avenue of linden trees was originally intended to go all the way to the forest so that the lords of the castle could hunt in the shade. But then it was too expensive.
