In the Marian year 1954, the chapel was built with the work and donations of the 138 war veterans "in devout gratitude for the happy return home and in gratitude for the sparing of the village". A copy of the foundation deed hangs in a showcase next to the chapel.
Our Lady "Fatima" is the Queen of Peace. The saying "Pray for world peace" adorns the chapel and the foundation deed. Those who returned probably knew exactly what they were talking about.
