This long route, which is also part of the official Rennsteig cycle path, takes you on paved and gravel paths through the beautiful Thuringian Forest up to Oberhof. The source on the Buch-Born invites you to take a break. Here you can recover from the ascent, listen to the chirping birds and enjoy the peace and quiet. You won't meet many other cyclists or hikers here.

Mountainbike

I rode a gravel bike the other way around a few days ago. Unfortunately, the Tambacher Straße near Oberhof was not passable. There was a large layer of loose pebbles on the road, so that you could hardly make any progress or constantly slipped. Unfortunately had to stop here. I assume that preparations are being made for asphalting. Maybe someone has more info?
