What a beautiful tour! Petershagen isn't far from us, but we've never been to many of the small villages before. It's as if time has stood still there. We saw five storks. The highlight was this cute café right on the Weser River, with homemade plum cake. We'll definitely do this tour again!
We didn't see any steps that you have to climb with your bike or stretches that you aren't allowed to ride on with your bike, as stated in the description. However, there is currently (as of 18.7.24) a construction site that means you can't get under the Weser Bridge, but a diversion is signposted.
Nice circular route, especially in the nice weather. Unfortunately there were no storks, they probably had better things to do than model.
I chose the stork route at https://www.mittelweser-tourismus.de/tour/storchenroute/. But I only saw one stork. Either they were all on lunch break or I was just blind. Today we rode a beautiful route along the Weser. Great cycle paths, beautiful views and great places to stop for a break. We discovered one new one: the Heimser Hof. Great location on the Weser with a great view.
Did the stork route today after 6 years, it was fun again despite the strong headwind. But we had electricity, for how long no one knows. Finally, the shut down coal-fired power plant
At a crisp🌞 26°C, it was bearable in parts of the Weser meadows. Heading north, we had a strong tailwind 🌬 At the beginning, we went along a very beautiful, old railway line🚆. We crossed the Weser at the Schlüsselburg dam. The beautiful beer garden "Heimser Hof" was perfect for a relaxing🍻 break. Located directly on the Weser, and the menu has everything your ❤️ desires 🍔🍟🌭🍻☕️🍨 you can bear it here 🥰 Today's moped meet-up was interesting to watch..."good old times"😍 Overall, most of the riding was on bike paths, farm tracks, or smaller village streets, but every now and then we also took to the main road. It was very nice that there were many opportunities to take a short break with refreshments 🍻 along the entire route, which was very nice and important given today's heat 👍
