The newly restored Three Crosses monument was unveiled in 1989. June 14 commemorating the mass deportations of 1941. Commemorating the nation's tragedy - mass deportations - Lithuanians achieved a very important victory against the Soviet regime. Three white crosses are standing on the hill. They changed a few times over the last decades...
You can find a few different stories about the very first crosses.
One story tells that the first ones were made from monks, made out of tree and remembered about a few monks who got killed in the 14th century...

Great views over the city. The most beautiful view you get is actually in autumn when all the trees are shining in bright orange and yellow. Like a small Indian summer ;)
