Eastern keep of the imperial palace with a mighty early humpback cube. Elaborate interior design shows the tower as the last refuge of the lord of the castle: fireplace, niches, Aborterker.

The Red Tower is a preserved keep that was built on the eastern tip of the Palatinate. It is 23 meters high and has a floor area of about ten by ten meters. In the late Middle Ages, the tower with shell limestone stones was raised by four meters. The corners of this area are beveled, and the openings are no longer vents, but loopholes. Today, the tower houses an exhibition on life in medieval Wimpfen, which is open during the summer months on weekends and public holidays. Then, the observation deck of the tower can also be visited.
