The new Traunsteiner Salinenpark was built for locals and guests of the city in order to make it possible to experience the structural testimonies from the saline period again. Blocked by more recent buildings, a view of the facades of the listed production and residential premises from Salinenstrasse and Reiffenstuelstrasse was only possible to a very limited extent and the spatial connection with the opposite Rupertistadl was not recognizable, partly because of the hedges planted on both sides of Salinenstrasse.

The saltworks park with unique pumping equipment, the fountain house and some saltworks buildings, also houses for the saltworkers (salt producers).
A pharmacy garden and the historic brine pipeline, the world's first pipeline, round off the park.
Very good information boards on the subject of salt production in Traunstein by the large water wheel.
