Mountain bike

This is, so to speak, the new Mackenröder Spitze. The tower used to stand a little further south and had to make way for the Bundeswehr's small radar post on the fenced-in property that is now used by the city's forestry office.
The panorama over the Goldene Mark to the Brocken and to the Ohm Mountains east of Duderstadt is always different depending on the time of day and year and is usually very beautiful.

The Harz view tower has been open again since July 22nd, 21st and can be climbed.
It was completely renovated from May '21 to July '21. The steps and the side panels of the floors as well as part of the load-bearing beams were renewed. The path to the tower and the area around the tower have also been restored.

For the renovation work, oak and larch wood directly from the Göttingen city forest was used, which was felled about 2 years ago and kept especially for such repair work and not sold.
