Caution - The actual start of the bridleway is up the river !! (and it's quite deep!!!). You can access the section beyond the river by 'walking' ;-) along the footpath through the field to the wooden bridge. From then its a gentle climb on a fine gravel surface past Lords wood, and pops you out at the top the hill on the A37 .

Great gravel trail in either direction, really fast down - just watch out for dog walkers. As Kev says, it's "strictly" the river at the North end and it was thigh deep last time I tried it.

Gravel

The stream at the north end was deep and flowing fast. To avoid it, you either squeeze through a tight kissing gate or lift over a wide 5 bar farm gate to get onto the parallel footpath. I did the latter. Quick dash through a field before picking up the Bridleway for a lovely steady hard-packed gravel climb up to join a paved lane leading eventually to the A37. Thoroughly recommended as long as you can get through or over that first obstacle!
