The Teatro Greco of Syracuse dates back to the 5th century BC and, with a diameter of almost 140 meters, was one of the largest Greek theaters. It was conveniently located on the slope of the Temenite Hill. Most of the 67 rows of seats were carved directly out of the stone. The audience sections were divided into nine sections. Performances are held here in the summer.
