While hiking the Horse-Shoe Trail past the western end of Fort Indiantown Gap (FTIG), don't be surprised to hear big aircraft overhead. This is the headquarters of the Pennsylvania National Guard and the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. During World War II, this base was one of the nation's busiest Army training camps, and it also hosted many refugees.
