Garbage City is the city of garbage collectors. This is where the garbage from Cairo is collected, sorted and recycled.
The tour is quite a culture shock for Europeans. But the people are not unhappy. They are mostly Christians. There is also a famous church that was blasted into the rock and is now half open to the sky.
A tour is worth it because it is a special place.

In order to reach the cave church in Cairo, a walk or Tuk Tuk drive is neccessary from the main road. Walking trough the Garbage City is quiet an experience for foreigners. But worth to do by foot. If you do it by foot, beware that wearing propper closed shoes makes a lot of sense, as the street can be dirty, muddy and wet.
