The current Justice Center and former main post office building on Breiten Weg was built between 1895 and 1899. To expand the building, the Reichspost acquired the adjacent properties, including the German Reformed Church and one of the most beautiful residential buildings in Magdeburg, the Rochsche Haus.

These buildings were gradually demolished, which led to many protests among the Magdeburg population at the Rochsche Haus. For this reason, the gable and the bay window were copied and attached to the west building of the Justice Center.
