The area of the Abbey extends between the rocks and the surrounding wood. The very developed and well organized archaeological area can be seen from the ruins present.

The Abbey of the Holy Trinity stands on Monte Sacro, a mountain that for centuries has been a place of worship and a pilgrimage destination, since ancient times, when it housed a sanctuary dedicated to Jupiter. According to local tradition, it was the apparition of the Archangel Michael to San Lorenzo Maiorano, bishop of Siponto, in 490 that transformed the Monte Sacro from a place of pagan worship to a place of Christian worship.

Rocky path, typical of the Gargano, to be covered with a minimum of trekking equipment to avoid slipping both uphill and downhill. Narrow stretches where it is essential to pay close attention !!
