Until 1990, this was the military base of the Coastal Coast Brigade, which was responsible for securing the beach and shore area at the time of the GDR.
The barracks were located on this site (path pictures) and on the plates there were headlight batteries at night, which searched the beach and lake for refugees, i.e. border violators. These plates could be found along the entire Baltic coast. In addition, along the coast stood the well-known border towers, such as in Kühlungsborn Ost, or Börgerende.
The border wax system is documented in detail here today.
