The Protestant village church in Ladeburg is a stone block building from the 13th century with two special features:
1. The apse is not semicircular as usual, but five-sided and therefore unique on the Barnim.
2. In contrast to the usual practice, the tower of the choir tower church is not located to the west of the nave, but - more or less opposite - on the walls of the choir.

The field stone church in Ladeburg was built around 1240. The tower of the church, made of wood, was up to the 19th century above the fieldstone vault on the eastern side of the church.
In Brandenburg the rule was "Altar in the east, tower in the west". The "wrong" arrangement of the tower earned the village the nickname "Verkehrt-Ladeburg".
