One of the best preserved historical sites, but restoration work is done in a "chinese" way. Lots of the stones are new. Therefor the buildings also look like new. The historical feeling is lost, but still is this a very important historical play. The fortress is about 2500 years old was the residence of the Bukharan governor. If you visit Dushanbe a tour to Hissor is also a good change to get some impressions from the tajik countryside.
