The building of the "Mercado Central de Abastos de Jerez" on Calle Doña Blanca was built on the site of the old convent of San Francisco from 1873 to 1885. This makes the market hall one of the oldest in the entire province of Cadiz. The neoclassical structure was designed by local architect José Esteve, and the iron parts of the structure were made in Belgium.

The hall is divided into the three areas meat, fish and fruit and vegetables, there are a total of 115 stalls.
