The portico, from the fourteenth century, was part of the oratory of the Disciplini.
The fifteenth-century building underwent various transformations over time and in particular various additions were made in different eras.
These include the rooms for the chaplain of Mercy on the west side and the parish priest's house on the east side.

The portico opens onto five arches, of which the first and last two are larger than the second and third, which correspond to the oldest part of the building.
