Drumeție

Until the 1970s, in Barntrup and elsewhere in front of the houses so-called wooden fins, which then shaped the cityscape. Large, small, round and square 'vessels' to dry the wood.

Nordic walking

Up until the 1970s, here in Barntrup and in many Lippe communities, there were wooden fins in front of the houses, which had a decisive influence on the townscape of Barntrup. Big, small, round and square; pure works of art, beautiful to look at.

In winter, trees were felled, sawn and the wood was chopped into logs in a sweat-inducing work.

The old Barntrupers, however, refilled their personal energy loss from time to time with a sip from their hip flask.
