Protecting the beach squeezed to the north by the defunct Nuclear Power Plant and to the South by the active military area at Camp Pendleton, the main route through the State Park is along the Old Pacific Highway, now essentially a campground road. While day use fees for car drivers are $15, bikers can access the park for free.
