The training mine Recklinghausen is located under the mountain dump of the Recklinghausen colliery in Recklinghausen-Hochlarmark.

The pigeon rock from the two shafts was piled up since the sinking of the first shaft (1869) directly next to shaft II on Wannerstraße. During the Second World War, shelter bunkers were built for the miners and residents of the Triangle settlement. Over time, a dense stock of trees grew on the heap. The heap height makes itself next to the adjacent dump Hoheward rather inconspicuous.
