A beautiful bridge in a very green area of Geneva.
The Passerelle du Lignon was built in the 1970s by the company Sappro, which operates a pipeline of refined petroleum products in Switzerland. Indeed, the bridge is connected to an oil pipeline on the right and is used for the transport of petroleum products coming from France towards the storage area of Vernier.

What kind of unique features does the Passerelle du Lignon offer compared to other bridges?

The Passerelle du Lignon is unique because it serves a dual purpose: it's a pedestrian and cyclist bridge, but it also integrates an active oil pipeline within its structure. This functional design, combined with its pleasant passage over the Rhône in a green setting, offers a distinctive experience that blends industrial utility with natural beauty.

Are there any cafes, restaurants, or accommodation options close to the Passerelle du Lignon?
