The golden-yellow building on Ribe's charming pedestrian zone is inviting in every way: its neoclassical facade is attractive, and the food on the guests' tables outside is extremely appetizing. "Quedens Gaard – Café og Krambod" (Quedens Garden – Café and Grocery) reads discreet signs in the window, while the large shop sign above, "J.H.Quedens," is historic and dates back to Johannes Harbo Quedens, who took over the merchant's house in 1834.
Inside, however, the booming café has pushed the general store with its handicrafts and delicacies into the background.
