Ciclism
The support center 'Fledermaus' in the dunes of Klein-Valkenisse formed the first link of the Landfront Vlissingen and is named after an operetta by Johan Strausjr. The position was able to cover the dragon's teeth barrier at the foot of the dune with fire. The barrier was made up of several rows of concrete pyramids and was intended to stop Allied tanks. The Landfront Vlissingen complex was created in the years 1942-1944 and is part of the Atlantikwall, the German military defense system from World War II. The Landfront Vlissingen was intended to protect the coastal defenses on Walcheren from attackers from the landward side. Wikipedia
