The name "Undeloh" is of Lombard-Roman origin and means "source in the oak grove".
This Undeloher spring, later called "Hungerpohl", used to be a natural phenomenon.
Legend has it that things were not going well in Undeloh. According to legend, the source of the hunger pond has a healing effect.
A fairy restored sight to a blind girl there. This miracle even attracted Charlemagne, who is said to have visited the spring.
