... I was used to pick cherries, apples, pears and plums in the 1950s and 1960s. Since orchards grow over 10 meters high, I had to be that tall!
The ladder was made in Herschwiesen. The poles are made of spruce, the rungs are made of oak. The longest examples of these ladders had 28 rungs and had to be set up by two people! Source: Text Indotafel

... I was a cherry tree of the "Hedelfinger" variety over 10 meters high and was planted nearby in the 1950s. For many years I carried delicious sweet cherries on my branches, from my roots you can still see what an imposing tree I am If you want, you can use the annual rings to determine my exact age.
