    Blankenhain Castle was built as a castle in the Middle Ages and was first mentioned in a document in 1279. The current building was built between 1680 and 1690. Since May 2000 the Schlossverein Blankenhain e.V. has been taking care of the preservation of the castle as a public and cultural institution (Wikipedia).
