Drumeție
It takes its name from the nearby church of San Tommaso (destroyed in 1836), located inside the walls at the intersection of the current via Sant'Andrea and Formignana.
With its typical "arrow" shape and without earlobes in the sides, the bulwark was built at the end of the second decade of the 16th century, when Duke Alfonso I d'Este (1476-1534) decided to strengthen the defensive apparatus of the south-eastern sector of the city.
