What the name is based on is no longer known, but the rock formation with its caves and towers reminds of an enchanted castle. The nature friends Pommelsbrunn brought here the billboard with "Wanderers Nachtlied" by Johann Wolfgang v. Chr. Goethe at the "Johannesburg".
