Beer has been brewed in the Oberstreuer Brauhaus for approximately 300 years based on brewing rights.

The brewery first appeared in village records in April 1699.

This reference, however, already referred to an extension contract for the brewing rights.

The Prince-Bishop's Eminence was pleased to consider the request and, via the Mellrichstadt District Office, granted it favorably.

It was not until 1891 that several more letters were received, originating from the Joachim and Son company, an iron foundry and boilermaker from Schweinfurt.

The then mayor, Anton Heuring, ordered mash tuns for 49 German Reichsmarks and machinery for 170 German Reichsmarks.
