In the Val d'Otro the Walser tradition is still alive and can be felt everywhere. Walking among the small Alpine villages is equivalent to taking a leap into the history of this ancient people.

The Val d'Otro is a side valley south of Alagna, where very original old Walser settlements have been preserved, situated in a beautiful alpine environment. In the hamlet Follu you can stop in the rustic Rifugio Zar Senni.

Beautiful side valley that branches off from Alagna. Far from the ski industry, it preserves ancient Walser settlements. The village of Follu is beautiful, where the beautiful Zar Senni refuge is located. The Val d'Orto joins the Val d'Olen at the superb and severe Foric pass (2,432 m).
