The SAP Arena is a multifunctional hall in the Baden-Württemberg city of Mannheim. The arena with up to 15,000 seats was opened in September 2005 and construction began in November 2002. The name sponsor is the German software manufacturer SAP. During the planning phase it was called the Mannheim Arena. The arena is home to the Adler Mannheim ice hockey club and the Rhein-Neckar Löwen handball club. It is also occasionally used for other sporting events, such as B. volleyball, indoor football, basketball, boxing, wrestling, but above all used as a stage for concerts and as a meeting room.
