The current Veenmolen has been standing on the edge of the village of Wilnis since 1823, amid peat meadows, deep reclaimed land, uplands and non-peatland polders. Large parts of this landscape have undergone a double metamorphosis in recent centuries: from land to water (by peat extraction) and back to land (reclaimed land).

De Veenmolen is open every Saturday between 10:00 and 16:00 unless otherwise stated on this website under announcements.

Since the restoration in 2003, the Mill has been running every Saturday when there is sufficient wind.
