In a small park opposite the Landschloss Helfenberg there are several of these curious-looking hanging beeches. In the park, which invites you to have a picnic or just to linger, there are also several false cypresses. A beautiful piece of earth. It is worth making a detour to the Helfenberg castle ruins on the opposite side.

Not the hanging beech itself should be the highlight, but the small but fine ;-) romantic English-style park at the Helfenberg country palace overall, with beautifully placed old trees (cypress and tulip tree), meadows, a stream and little bridges 😃. Worth seeing.
Next door the classical country palace.
In the bottom and on the other side of the ground are the ruins of the old Helfenberg Castle.

The local castle complex has a long history and is very closely related to a castle that was in the immediate vicinity. The manor house was last rebuilt around 1800 and is still in this form today. During the GDR, part of the palace complex was used as a school and as the seat of an agricultural production cooperative. The mansion and the other buildings are now used for residential purposes and are not open to the public.
