Long bathing lawn directly on the Danube. In mid-October there is no longer a business, but then you are almost completely alone there. :-) It's too cold for swimming in autumn, but you can still enjoy the sun and the view.

The history of the Strombads Kritzendorf goes back to the year 1887. At that time there was a swimming basket in the Danube to enable even inexperienced swimmers to swim safely. Over the years, the bath then developed into a renowned bathing spot for the Viennese. At the end of the 1970s, bathing operations were discontinued. Since then, the Strombad has been freely accessible. You can swim in the Danube, but there is no lifeguard.

Entry is free, kayak tour starting point, come early on very sunny days to enjoy the sunshine the whole day, beachline overshadowed on some spots by trees the whole day through also (good if you had enough direct sunlight and to put your food n cool drinks there), water is flowing fast in one direction and is always refreshingly cool
