Confluence of the Ammer and the upper Neckar rivers. This small river, approximately 25 km long, originates from five springs near Herrenberg. It then flows through the valley named after it along the southern edge of the Schönbuch forest, joins the Goldersbach stream in Lustnau, and shortly thereafter flows into the Neckar near the Alte Weberei district.

The Ammer River originates from five springs southwest of Herrenberg in the district of Böblingen. From there, it flows through the valley named after it, along the southern edge of the Schönbuch Nature Park, and through the municipalities of Gültstein and Ammerbuch. Within the city limits of Tübingen, it merges with the Goldersbach stream and shortly thereafter flows into the upper Neckar River from the left in the Tübingen district of Lustnau. Over its 22.5 km course, the Ammer descends approximately 94 meters.
