"... The Wehebach, also called Wehe, is a 25.7 km long river in the urban region of Aachen and in the district of Düren in western North Rhine-Westphalia. The Wehe flows from south to north, is dammed up in the Wehebach dam and flows near Lamersdorf (today the municipality of Inden) from the right into the Inde. The Wehebach is the eponym of the locality Langerwehe. Since 2020 the slopes west of the stream have been part of the Hohes Venn-Eifel nature park ... "

In the Middle Ages, metal was processed in particular in what is now Schevenhütte, which also gave the place its name. In the area around Langerwehe and Luchen, there were mainly grain water mills.
