The round stone tower in front of the church was inaugurated in 2009 on the occasion of the community's 750th anniversary.
At the top are character heads of people who have had a significant impact on the community's history.
The heads were created by scouts under the direction of the sculptor Ingo Warnke.
Small peepholes in the masonry at different heights provide a view of a mosaic that refers to a historic event.
