Although closed, I was able to cover this part on a Sunday, when there was no work, with my gravel bike. It is doable, hence the thirty other cyclists who approached me from the south. Most of the road surface consists of loose sand, hardened stone or steel plates. Choose whether you want to climb over a blockade or follow the diversion. In the north road workers let me through and they assured me it was all right.

Take note that the Uitdammerdijk along the water is closed for upcoming 3 years!! They are working on strengthening the dykes, so its closed for pedestrians and cyclists. You need to loop around.

After a period of 4 years of work, the dike has finally been reopened to through traffic. At the moment, cyclists still have to use the roadway, because the cycle path on top of the dike is not yet finished. Cycling on the roadway is not a problem. There is little traffic on this route.
