A beautiful old lock system with a charming steel bridge over the canal. Here you feel as if you have been transported back to the founding years of the “Elbe-Trave-Canal”. Engineering from the age of steam and a cozy resting place to linger.
However, there are plans to deepen and widen the canal. Destroying this gem for much larger ships, destroying the attractive natural surroundings and thus killing the many shipping families of smaller canal ships as well as the tourist providers on the canal, I cannot understand.
