In almost no other place on earth are there as many hippos as there are in Santa Lucia - you really should not walk through the city at dusk and at night, because the hippopotamus are looking for food and do not want to be disturbed. and they can run 50 km / h. There are actually many clashes with hippos in this region: so better use the car at night.

Luckily, the "Townies" (as the herds who call the place their haven are called here) are used to people and quite relaxed. So you do not need to panic if such an animal shows up - but be careful!

Every evening you can see the hippos walking through the village. You should keep a little distance, after all they are wild animals. But then you can enjoy looking at them.
